Sales & Marketing Manager

Universal Truck and Trailer is Atlantic Canada's largest heavy duty truck and trailer dealership featuring the most up-to-date dealer service bays in Southern New Brunswick. We are an authorized sales, service, parts & warranty dealership for premium products including Freightliner and Western Star Trucks. In addition, we service all makes and models for class 6, 7 and 8 vehicles, including luxury class RV's.

We currently have an opening at our head office in Dieppe for a S ales & Marketing Manager . The successful candidate, reporting to the General Manager, will be responsible for profitable revenue generation and growth. They will do this by researching and developing marketing opportunities and planning and implementing new sales plans. In addition to delivering sales results the candidate will be responsible for ensuring proper commercial processes are in place and build strong relationships with both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Define market potential by analyzing market surveys and sales statistics; estimating volume and profit potential; preparing forecasts
  • Develop sales plans and strategies and monitor their progress on overall volume, close ratio, average sale, and margins
  • Coach and educate vehicle sales, outside parts sales and the service teams on new product offerings, promotions, financing options and selling acumen
  • Manage inventory of new and used vehicles
  • Improve market position by seeking out new accounts for new & used equipment sales
  • Develop sales volumes by establishing sales policy, objectives, pricing, and discounts; assigning quotas; negotiating key contracts
  • Maintain relationships with key customers
  • Requirements

  • University Degree in Marketing / Commerce or related field
  • 5-10 years related experience in automotive or truck sales is preferred
  • Must exude energy and passion for superior customer service and building and retaining customer loyalty
  • Demonstrate ability to energize, empower and engage team to deliver results
  • Ability to deal with conflict and adversity when leading teams through change
  • Skilled communicator and negotiator
  • Must be known for their ‘edge’ and competitive drive to get results using data driven decision making
  • Demonstrated proficiency developing and implementing Business Plans
