Location:3737 Major Mackenzie Drive, Bldg E, Vaughan, Ontario, L4H 0A2Join a locally owned and operated store to help deliver health, beauty and convenience services in your community, and keep the customer at the centre of everything you do.Why this role is important?SUMMARY:To assist the Front Store Manager (FSM) in managing the human, physical and financial resources of the store and in ensuring that store objectives are achieved by focusing on improving product flow from the backroom to the sales floor.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:OperationsRole models best practice customer service at Shoppers Drug MartSupports Loss Prevention processes related to cash management and Front Store processes to minimize riskParticipates in hiring/onboarding of new cashiersEnsures all Cash staff have completed cash training and customer service training through SDMUIdentifies and trains Supervisors from existing cashiers where possibleFollows up with Supervisors to ensure communication cascade for evening /weekend huddles and timely updates as requiredUpdate Process Board with tasks from store walkEnsures tasks get accomplished in a timely fashionEnsures that backroom inventory management initiative (BIMI) is to standard at all timesGenerates daily low stock report and provides to merchandisers/section captainsCommunicates expected deliveries with receiver to develop an action plan for receivingRole models and monitors adherence to receiving principles focusing on totes first and sorting techniquesCustomer ServiceProactively engages customers with increased focus during peak traffic timesAssists FSM to ensure all product-related processes are implemented effectivelyHighlights new products, reinforces with staff the need to share upcoming events with customers, recognizes CSI performers during Daily Huddle / ShiftCoaches and trains all new merchandising hires on Store StandardsEnsures that exceptional customer service is provided beyond expectation, as outlined in the Store Operating StandardsEnsures employees present proper image to the public in accordance with Uniform Policy and Dress Code Guidelines (i.e. clean appearance, approved uniform, name badge)Answers inquiries (ie. location of product, rainchecks) and resolves customer complaints according to guidelinesDemonstrates product knowledge and familiarity with location of products throughout the storeEmpowers employees to ensure customer satisfactionMarketing and MerchandisingOversees implementation of store marketing programsSpotlights new or exclusive products at daily huddlesEnsures staff know about upcoming events to share with customersRecognizes CSI performersOversees PC Optimum program including communication of performance and review and follows up of individual operator ID performance for sign-ups and email capturesAssists the FSM in adherence to all marketing programs and initiatives, which may include: 1) Retail price management 2) Planograms, core programs, and merchandising techniques 3) Flyer implementation and local advertising initiativesCreates and maintains proper displays to reflect seasonal and promotional programsEnsures value events are set-up and taken down according to scheduleWorks with FSM to ensure signage in the store reflects current programs, policies, and proceduresResponsible for replenishment orders in absence of FSMHuman ResourcesAssists in the hiring process for Front End Cashiers/Supervisors (recommend to FSM)Ensures staff is properly trained in all aspects of their role and provides on-going coaching and instructionsAssists in ongoing employee performance management and development, including performance reviews, progressive discipline with FSMComplies with employment legislationEnsures employees comply with all policies and proceduresFinance Assists in achieving projected sales growth targetsAssists in effective expense managementGeneralComplies with all health and safety regulationsComplies with all store policies and proceduresComplies with loss prevention policies and procedures and ensures they are executed in the departmentEnsures Store Standards are followedMaintains confidentiality in all matters pertaining to Shoppers Drug Mart franchised business and its operationPerform other duties as assigned Management/Supervision/Leadership Provides support to all non Rx parties within the local storeProvides direction under the guidance of FSMQUALIFICATIONS Planning, Judgement and Decision MakingIndependent thinking and decision making - Makes decisions when dealing with issues or problems that occur when the FSM is not available.
