If so, the AWS Canada National Security and Defence (NSD) team is looking for a Sr. Program Manager with a proven record of delivering results for strategic cross-functional projects.
This position is based in Canada's National Capital Region (NCR). As a NSD Sr. Program Manager, you will spend the majority of your time partnering with technical business leaders AND government executives engaged in furthering AWS' NSD program portfolio.
This position focuses on the delivery of AWS services to our National Security and Defence industry customers and partners. This role requires influential, cross-functional leadership across diverse teams to solve complex problems, identify requirements, design processes, and manage timelines for programs and projects supporting Canada NSD customers.
It involves delivering results by driving diverse teams, such as sales, business development, business operations, legal, cybersecurity, solution architects, and software development, towards a common goal. It entails regular communication with senior management on project status, business opportunities and risks.
We seek an innovative program manager who has experience in delivering solutions to Canada's NSD industry. To be successful in this position, the candidate must have the ability to solve complex, technical/non-technical problems with simple and practical solutions.
This person must be comfortable with ambiguity and display a willingness to dive deep to uncover additional insights into such problems. A strong candidate is customer-obsessed and displays a bias for action in everything they do. The ability to effectively communicate with senior management and other departments within the organization is key to success.
Core Responsibilities:
• Meet regularly with Amazon internal service teams to develop effective methods for assuring timely delivery of program commitments.
• Develop and maintain high level work plans, risk management plans and schedules.
• Develop and execute effective methods of communication among AWS and government stakeholders.
• Lead security accreditation discussions with customer stakeholders through formal program performance reviews and technical planning meetings.
• Meet regularly with enterprise account managers to provide security status to help advance new opportunities from prospect to workload in progress.
• Participate in and support enterprise account manager customer engagements focused on moving from first-call to active project/program moving to AWS.
Basic Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in a leadership role responsible for personally developing project schedules, work breakdown structures, program/project management plans, performance management plans, risk mitigation plans, operations management plans and methods for measuring team performance in the completion of contractually obligated deliverables.
• 10+ years of experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams.
• 10+ years of experience communicating with multiple levels of leadership involving both business and technical sides of the business
• 5+ years of experience in the national security and / or defence-related industry.
• Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals. Completed Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience.
• Current, active Government of Canada Security Clearance of Secret at minimum
Preferred Qualifications:
• 5+ years supporting information technology programs under the Controlled Goods Program and the Industrial Security Program requirements.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Canada's National Security and Defence security accreditation processes and implementations.
• Current, active Government of Canada Security Clearance at the Top Secret level.
