Were looking for our next Assistant Manager, Event Operations!



The Distillery Restaurants Corp., creators of Cluny Bistro, El Catrin, Pure Spirits Oyster House & Grill, Archeo Trattoria, Madrina Bar y Tapas, District Pizza and Distillery Events (the Fermenting Cellar and The Distillery District®- Loft) are seeking experienced applicants with outstanding food & beverage knowledge, solid business acumen, and a drive to deliver results and bring people together. The ideal candidate not only understands that exceptional guest service is at the heart of hospitality but they are also attuned to the pulse of Toronto's unique food and beverage culture.

What you will be doing:

Lead the team by example to exhibit, encourage and motivate the DRCs Mission & Values, and inspire the team with your exciting vision for the futureDemonstrate high personal integrity, business ethics and take every opportunity to promote the venue and the DRC Use conflict resolution and problem-solving skills to coach and lead team membersRegularly monitor and achieve the events/restaurants points of technical service and points of detailsBuild and maintain relationships with guests/clients, vendors, suppliers, team members and senior management alikeAssist with the tracking of sales, invoicing, and managing inventoryWork with Human Resources to manage team members performance, coach, train and recruit as necessaryParticipate in regular event review meetings with event sales & coordination team and back of house operationsCoordinate and participate in ongoing learning opportunities to enhance your skills, abilities and professionalism for personal growth and development


Manage inventory, purchasing and maintenance of smallwares and event equipment and order necessary beverage and venue items as requiredEnsure COVID protocols and sanitation are being performed before, during and after eventsOther duties or responsibilities as assigned or required

A Communicator. You have refined verbal and written communication, and you are comfortable providing feedback regarding front of house operations, proposing new policies, and developing and implementing new strategies.


Resilient. We are looking for someone who works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and views change as an opportunity.


Detailed. Youll need strong administrative and organizational skills and superior attention to detail. Prioritizing and completing multiple tasks simultaneously are strengths of yours.


KNOWLEDGEABLE. You have a strong foundation in events and business acumen. You are familiar with financial management including the ability to control labour, forecasting, scheduling and payroll while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.


SELF STARTER. You would describe yourself as proactive rather than reactive. You see the world through a solutions-oriented lens.
