We are currently recruiting for a Sales & Marketing Representative, Specialty Products based at our Metrotown corporate office in Burnaby, BC. The Sales & Marketing Representative will be responsible for the sales and marketing of a suite of specialty lumber products, with a focus on Western Red Cedar products, manufactured at our 3 BC Interior sawmills. This individual will negotiate and manage product sales and contracts, manage credit, and develop program and pricing strategies to maximize sales returns and mill margins.

What You’ll Do

Develop and implement sales strategies jointly will the Sales and Operations teams to maximize product margins.
Manage the flow of lumber products from primary manufacturing facility through to custom processing facility(ies), to customer.
Identify and analyze market trends and opportunities; develop strategies and programs to capitalize on new trends.
Grow customer relationships and work with mill staff to develop and manage product sales that meet customer needs and operational capabilities.
Regular operational visits (including to custom processing facilities), to identify and understand margin-added production opportunities and constraints; take initiative in creating plans to take advantage of opportunities and minimize constraints.
Work jointly with customers to develop and implement product education and marketing / promotion initiatives.

What You Offer

Post-secondary education required.
Minimum 3-5 years of sales experience.
Knowledge of the North American lumber market and lumber manufacturing operations.
Proven negotiation skills.
Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills.
Lumber grading certification is an asset.
Ability to travel within Canada and the US for customer visits and/or trade shows.
Strong leadership, analytical and organizational skills.
Bring a high degree of honesty and integrity to all situations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a highly interactive / energetic team environment.
Self-motivated and working with a sense of urgency and flexibility through task completion.
Detail and results oriented.
