Assists in the implementation, maintenance and administration of various technology compliance programs. Coordinates and performs risk assessment, monitoring, testing and surveillance activities to ensure program remains current and aligned with BMO Compliance Program. Works along technology Business Unit Compliance Officers (BUCOs) with technology groups to ensure regulatory, compliance and risk management requirements are met. Help in advising technology groups on implications of new regulatory developments or internal controls requirements through critical thinking, data analysis and knowledge sharing. Develops and maintains compliance information for analysis and reporting. Maintains functional and regulatory expertise specific to technology groups, and refers to Compliance Policies & Procedures manuals for requirements. Contributes to business/group results by providing oversight and making recommendations that significantly impact the Bank’s ability to monitor technology regulatory compliance programs, minimize operational risk and align with regulatory agencies.

Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant technology regulations and policies.

Supports the execution of technology risk programs related to technology units, applications and infrastructure.

Builds effective professional relationships with technology group and related 2nd line groups.

Analyses/reviews and reports compliance and risk data and associated data to Compliance and technology groups.

Identifies, assesses, and oversees the satisfactory resolution of technology issues, including ensuring adequate management remediation plans and validation.

Continuously follow-up on high profile issues/risk cases.

Develops and maintains a high level of expertise in all technology regulations, directives and guidance which apply to the technology groups.

Help in conduct of effective risk assessments of technology groups.

Analyzes and reports technology compliance information.

Maintain and continuously analyse technology risk and compliance data sets to support technology risk and compliance reporting on periodic basis.


Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in the field of Engineering or Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Recognized compliance certificate or equivalent preferred.

Strong data analysis and presentation skills including advance level skill of using excel, power point, SAS or similar tools.

Strong communication, critical thinking, relationship management and project management skills.

Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.
