Our Market Fresh team is a family of friendly and optimistic individuals who excel in our fast pace and ever changing environment.



We are currently seeking a full time Butcher to join our Butcher Shoppe. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, loves to barbecue, and be a team player who thrives in a busy environment.



This individual must be passionate about butchery and able to make a minimum of a 1 year commitment to our team.



The position will be a variety of shifts including days, afternoons and weekends anywhere from 6:00am-8:00pm.

Job Duties:



-Maintaining freshness levels, dynamic presentation of product, and upholding safety/health standards in the coolers and the department

-Providing superior customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, suggestive selling and assisting with special requests and express orders

-Assist with production as required utilizing equipment in the department

-Inspecting, wrapping, pricing and merchandising products accurately while ensuring proper rotation and quality

-Assisting with cleanliness in the department and ensuring it meets the Health & Safety requirement

-Maintain Bizerba

-Ensure the back room is clear and organized

-Assisting with merchandising through sequencing, counting verification, inventory adjustments, price verification and sign maintenance

-Safely operating power equipment, such as slicing equipment, wrapper, etc.

-Adhering to the cornerstone values, philosophy, and applicable practices of Market Fresh

-Facing and filing every 30 minutes

-Prepare beef, lamb, pork to industry standards and Market Fresh standards which is outlined by the Meat Managers

-Must use ethics and extreme discretion on freshness and appeal when cutting and producing items

-Absorb knowledge from senior meat cutters and look for trends in the industry (YouTube)

-Set an example for the Meat Merchandisers and other Meat Cutters; filling at night, customer service skills, time management, quality of product being produced

-Maintain a clean work environment to C.F.I.A Standards

-Prepare custom cuts and orders for customers

-Providing the next level of customer service experience

-Ensure the pulls are being done on a nightly basis

-Assist with the positive communication between employees and management



Job Requirements:



-Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of customers and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required

-Ability to promote products and persuade customers

-Strong knowledge of retail sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques

-Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

-Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands

-Demonstrated time management skills

-Ability to work individually as well as part of a team

-High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment

-High level of integrity and work ethic



Work Conditions:



-Interaction with employees, management, and the public at large

-Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions

-Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 50 pounds
