OVERVIEW We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Coordinator who will report to the Health and Safety Supervisor and be responsible to: Champion the coaching of all aspects of health and safety within all divisions of Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Act as a key member of safety committees including Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee in each division as required Be an advocate for current Health and Safety Initiatives, develop and implement programs and initiatives and conduct regular audits based on mill and external requirements. Lead the Emergency Response Team and participate in Spill Response Manage the maintenance and troubleshoot to locate issues with the fire suppression system Assist supervisors or superintendents in the investigation of safety related incidents Lead Safety Root Cause Analysis (RCA) team as required. Follow up on Corrective actions identified during RCA process Advise on Disability Management cases and Early and Safe Return to Work plans as required Participate in conducting internal audits Manage and regularly report on safety KPI’s QUALIFICATIONS The Successful candidate should have: Bachelors degree or Diploma is a related discipline Minimum of 5 years of work experience in Health and Safety Other combinations of experience and education will be considered Preference will be given to candidates with a Safety designation or certification Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills in the face of adversary Aptitude to function as a Change Agent to foster a safety culture Proficient use of computers
