The Role\n

The Technology Consulting function in ICT is responsible for providing a range of consulting services relating to Insurance Technology’s software products and enterprise platforms. These consulting services include:\n

• Pre-sales for software opportunities, especially for complex client solutions\n

• Delivery and program management of complex technology projects\n

• Solution architecture\n

• Implementation of complex solutions including global rollouts, SaaS / Cloud implementations, Unify, IFRS17 and Underwriter Workbench\n

• Software product installation\n

• Data architecture and consulting\n

• CIO / senior client engagement\n

The Director role is a leadership position within the Technology Consulting function in ICT and is responsible for driving the success of the function. Specific responsibilities include:\n

Responsibilities of the role include:\n

• Enabling technology software and consulting sales including:\n

o Leading the technology aspects of sales opportunities\n

o Ensuring the right solution is defined for the client, and that the right technology delivery is scoped into the software sale\n

o Demonstrating personal credibility with clients and WTW colleagues in ICT\n

• Driving success delivery on client engagements including:\n

o Leading engagement with technology clients (IT leaders / architects) during pre-sales, project delivery and ongoing relationship management\n

o Demonstrating personal credibility with clients to enable sales and manage relationships\n

o Ensuring successful delivery of engagements / projects by:\n

 Setting the engagements up for success\n

 Leading or participating in the design / architecting of the solution\n

 Managing key stakeholders\n

 Managing delivery from the consulting team\n

 Ensuring quality and professional excellence\n

o Managing contracting with the client\n

• Working with leaders in Technology Consulting to ensuring the Technology Consulting function is setup for success including:\n

o Providing thought leadership on how to shape and build the consulting function\n

o Driving the build out of technology consulting propositions\n

o Engaging with Insurance Consulting and Insurance Technology colleagues / peers to ensure that the technology consulting proposition is integrated with the rest of the business, and ensuring that Technology Consulting is seen as a consulting peer to Insurance Consulting\n

• Assuming responsibility for one or more of the following leadership dimensions in the Technology Consulting function:\n

o People leadership – responsible for all aspects of building and growing talent in a region or office\n

o Client & Delivery Leadership – responsible for engaging and integrating with the ICT regions, divisions and offices around client opportunities, and ensuring delivery of projects in a region\n

o Capability & Offering Leadership – responsible for driving core capabilities and offerings globally across Technology Consulting\n

• Acting as the point of escalation for issues and failures with clients in the areas of assumed responsibility\n

The role reports to the Head of Technology Consulting, or if more junior it may report to a Senior Director in the Insurance Consulting function.\n

The Requirements\n

• 8+ years’ experience in a global technology consulting, professional services or client facing software organization\n

• Ability to lead technology consulting teams\n

• Ability to lead sales engagements in a technology consulting / software environment\n

• Ability to manage complex delivery projects and client relationships\n

• Strong technical background / experience in one or more of the following areas:\n

o Enterprise / technical architecture\n

o Enterprise cloud environments\n

o Integration and data architecture / implementation\n

o Packaged software implementation\n

• Ability to be seen as a trusted advisor\n

• Strong stakeholder management capabilities\n

• Ability to transition between operating at a strategic level and in the detail. Being a leader as well as an individual contributor\n

• Insurance industry experience preferable\n

• Relevant technical degree or experience preferable\n

• Strong verbal and written communication skills\n

• Ability to travel where required\n

• Bachelor's degree required\n
