Cluny Bistro & Boulangerie, part of The Distillery Restaurants Corporation, creators of El Catrin, Madrina Bar y Tapas, Pure Spirits Oyster House & Bar, Archeo Trattoria, District Pizza and Distillery Events, is actively seeking an engaged CHEF DE PARTIE to join our Back of House Team within our growing company!
Our venues are located in the Distillery Historic District, one of North America's most exciting art and shopping destinations and home to some of the top-ranked restaurants in the City of Toronto. Cluny Bistro brings elegant French dishes to Toronto without any pretentiousness.
At Cluny, Chef Andrew Wilson, whose experience is built from some of the best restaurants over the past 15 years that Toronto has had to offer, focuses on non-pretentious menus inspired by France's modern food movement paired with vibrant music, breathtaking design, and personalized service.
We are actively seeking an experienced and motivated Chef de Partie who loves food, takes pride in their growing craft and wants to contribute to a high achieving, team-oriented kitchen. DRC Chef de Parties have a proven track record of cooking in a fast-paced environment and have experience assisting the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs in the daily operation and planning of the kitchen. They help implement, maintain, and improve new and present standards and policies according to the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs.
Please note: You must already have legal permission to work in Canada to be considered for this role.


What you'll be doing:Maintaining established standards for the restaurant and assisting with new objectivesSupporting product, menu and recipe developmentAssisting with ordering and inventoryEnsuring the kitchen is run according to health and safety regulations - giving necessary safety, hygiene and sanitation training to other staff members as neededEnsuring proper handling of equipment and utensils - training staff as neededPerforming routine checks on opening, closing and cleaning duties and checklists to see they are completed fully and to standardsCo-ordinates ordering, mise-en-place, and task/assignment delegation ensuring production is on scheduleFollowing FIFO (first in, first out) method to maximize freshnessWorking closely with cooks to ensure daily operations run smoothly and all food quality standards are metAssisting with trainingOther duties as assigned


NOTE: The Chef de Partie takes over all responsibilities in the absence of the Sous Chef.
