To help do this, we are seeking a Director, Business Development.In this dynamic role, you will bring a keen understanding of complex freight networks and have developed an excellent reputation among your peers in the industry. You have a proven track record of networking and onboarding new customers and skilled at maintaining a loyal customer base.As Director, your focus will include both onboarding new customers and integrating them into existing fulfillment routes, and strategically transitioning one-way routes into round-trip routes to maximize efficiency and reduce empty miles.What you’ll do:· Source and develop solid business relationships vital to the success of the department and achieve sales and profit targets· Conduct market intelligence analysis to identify new opportunities and build valuable pipelines· Participate in the preparation and negotiation of bids, RFPs and client quotations· Develop a long-term plan to onboard and manage additional sales support· Communicate client expectations to team members and manage integration at the operational level until service and cost deliverables are met· Provide ongoing reporting and analysis, including: territory trending, sales reports/analysis, CRM reports, trade spending analysis, expense reports, etc.· Represent Loblaw at Trade Shows, Industry Events, and other networking events· Ensure the selling methods and behaviors are consistent with Loblaws’ high standards and expectations for key client relationshipsWhat you bring;· 3 to 5 years’ proven success in domestic and international business development (preferably in the logistics or transport industry)· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred (or an equivalent combination of work experience and education)· Expert negotiation skills, supported by the drive and desire to win business bids· Ability to build key business relationships; An excellent understanding of the market and our competition; technical knowledge of the job· Experience with design and implementation of a business development strategy· Self-motivated, with experience working to and exceeding targets· High Level communication skills (spoken, written and comprehension); Proven ability to negotiate and influence· Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite of software applicationsIf the above sounds great to you, we can’t wait to hear from you.
