Senior Finance Manager On behalf of our leading-industry and international client we are seeking a Senior Manager of Corporate Finance, on a permanent basis, to act as a member of the Finance Management Team in Ottawa. The Senior Finance Manager will report to the VP, Finance & Operations. Under general supervision, the Senior Finance Manager will manage and direct financial accounting, reporting, and treasury, and in the near future, they will also manage the overhead budget function. In addition, this role is required to collaborate with tax staff and management, and provide oversight to payroll staff in conjunction with payroll management, through a shared services model. The Senior Manager of Corporate Finance will monitor the performance of outsourced services (accounts payable, financial systems, billing, and certain accounting functions), and work collaboratively with program finance management to fulfill the corporate finance objectives. This position requires an experienced professional manager with strong leadership and technical skills. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: -Steering a team through the timely and accurate completion of all corporate financial reporting and forecasting requirements, including detailed value added analysis, to enhance the decision making in the organization -Lead all treasury related functions including cash flow forecasting and foreign exchange management -Responsible for the overall accounting function of the pension plans -Oversee the payroll function in conjunction with payroll management through our shared services model -Collaborate with our tax staff in conjunction with tax management through the shared services model -Monitor and manage the performance of our outsourced services (accounts payable, financial systems, billing, and certain accounting functions) to ensure services rendered positively impact the business -Work collaboratively with program finance management to fulfil the corporate finance objectives -Lead continuous improvement initiatives in financial accounting processes and controls -Manage corporate external, internal, and SOX audits -Work with senior management to ensure complete alignment of activities with other Company priorities and efforts, while ensuring financial performance is in compliance with corporate guidelines -Lead and motivate team members to achieve peak productivity and performance -Provide the appropriate resources and training to the finance management team, regarding any corporate financial accounting and reporting developments -Lead the development and analysis of overhead budgets and forecasting for the Company in conjunction with the leadership team Qualifications: -Bachelor’s degree, in Accounting, Finance or related field -8 to 10 years of relevant experience including managing staff, corporate financial accounting, reporting, and analysis -Demonstrated financial management expertise and strong knowledge of the U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) -Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation -Advanced use of MS Excel, and proficiency in Microsoft Suite -Ability to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities -Team player with a can-do attitude and the ability to work cross functionally to achieve goals and objectives -Excellent analytical, organizational and multi-tasking skills -Excellent oral and written communication skills -Excellent presentation skills with the ability to develop and present to senior management to aid decision-making -Excellent management and leadership skills with the ability to effectively delegate to staff -Ideally you will have some experience in: -Oracle and/or Hyperion knowledge/experience would be considered a strong asset -Experience in public accounting considered an asset
